As a core load-bearing and wear-prone component of excavators, the bucket pin must balance high strength, wear resistance and impact resistance. Its mainstream materials are medium-carbon alloy steels, and different grades of steel are selected for different operating conditions. The specific classifications are as follows:
45# High-Quality Carbon Structural SteelThis is a basic and general-purpose material with low cost, suitable for medium and low-intensity operating scenarios such as earthwork projects and municipal construction. After quenching and tempering heat treatment (quenching + high-temperature tempering), its hardness can reach HRC28-32, which can meet the load requirements of regular excavation operations.
40Cr Alloy Structural SteelAs the most widely used special material for bucket pins, it has excellent comprehensive mechanical properties. Its strength, toughness and hardenability are all superior to those of 45# steel. After quenching and tempering treatment, its hardness can reach HRC38-42, making it suitable for medium and high-intensity working conditions such as light-duty mining operations and building demolition. When paired with wear-resistant bushings, it can effectively extend the service life.
Alloy bushings are core supporting wear-resistant components, whose main functions are to protect bucket pins and the connecting holes of the host boom, while optimizing transmission stability.
The hardness and wear resistance of alloy bushings are far superior to those of the base steel of the excavator boom. During operation, they directly bear the friction and impact loads generated by the rotation of bucket pins, preventing the bucket pins from directly wearing the boom connecting holes and reducing the wear rate of the bucket pins themselves.
Without the protection of alloy bushings, gaps and deformation will quickly occur in the bucket pins and boom holes, resulting in a decline in the operating accuracy of the entire machine.
